Kelly Engineering is a family business with a global reach, designing and producing soil preparation machinery for Agriculture. Like most family businesses our designs have been close held and exclusively developed in house. When we needed extra capacity to meet production deadlines a trusted recommendation introduced us to the team at Titan. From our first meeting the team were professional, engaged and interested. Their CAD systems were compatible with our own which made the collaboration seamless. Titan’s input to our project included common sense, industry experience, quality design and understanding of manufacturing needs. Communication throughout the project was timely and professional and the outcome met agreed timeframes and was truly collaborative. Bluescope - Wingfield strapper replacement Project

As Part of BlueScope’s National safety initiative we had identified the end of line strapping station at our Bluescope Wingfield site as one of the initiatives to be included in our program. The safety program is a National program and one that Bluescope take very seriously, with our focus always being a zero Harm work place. This initiative is linked to the entire business’s KPI’s and was targeted to be completed and operational by the end of the 2021 financial year ( June 30th). The Wingfield project was the last project on the list to achieve our National objective, and given the hectic nature of the year to date with Managing through the COVID situation we were late to source this project.

We had chosen TITAN STRAPPING SYSTEMS ASIA-PACIFIC as the successful supplier for several reasons. They had the technology that best suited our application with their patterned TIG welded joint technology, also they are Australian based and the system was to be designed and manufactured in Australia. This matches BlueScope’s Australian made philosophy, and we would get great after sales service.

Not only did TITAN deliver a robust system, they pulled out all stops to achieve what most thought to be an unachievable timeline. Titan Asia-Pacific worked around the clock and had the system running with hours to spare of the required timeline, and the plant has ran issue free since its inception.

We needed to upgrade our heads as the costs and time pressures kept mounting. With expert advice from the TITAN engineers, we were able to mock-up and plan our change over in weeks then implement within months. The improvement and saving were overnight. We wished we had changed over years ago.

We changed to TITAN strapping because the dust from our previous strap was continuously clogging our head. With TITAN strap we simply do not need to worry about the dust any more.

You don’t quite believe it until you have seen the TITAN K8000 in action, the speed and efficiency are a game-changer and provide a significant improvement to our current machinery.

Prior to installation of TITAN technology customer was using Jumbo coils steel strap, An operator would need to change the strap coil every 17 hours, a 5-10 minute task. With the TITAN Mega Jumbo PET coils, they now need to change a coil every 151 hours. The customer has 3 lines, meaning in a year they now save 150 hours per annum previously spent loading strap coils, and 1326 less interruptions to production. The customer also enjoys significant savings in material handling, consumable inventory management and storage.

TITAN manufactured and installed an automatic strapping system for a new sawmill. We opted to provide our Mega Jumbo PET coils to let our customer focus on producing their product, rather than changing strap coils. It means the customer can produce up to 700 packs per strap coil, instead of 55 packs per strap coil with the industry standard coil size.
